“My fitness journey at Radiant has centered largely around my first pregnancy. I am so thankful to have had a gym to help me navigate fitness during pregnancy. It can be intimidating, especially with it being my first, but all of the coaches had my best interest in mind and did a great job of giving me modifications so I could stay safe and healthy all the way up to a day before delivery. But what has been an even bigger journey was coming back after the baby. I am happy to say that after months of focusing on getting back to moving well and retraining and strengthening my body that I am feeling more and more like myself. My progress is largely because of the coaches who allowed me to be patient with the process and kept me up when I was getting down. This gym has allowed me to grow physically and mentally which has made me a more enjoyable person all around. They focus on the individual’s goals to improve quality of life, not how many pull ups or burpees you can do in a minute.”
Tori’s story
“I have been with Radiant through three pregnancies, two toddlers, and the loss of a newborn. I have had times where I’ve gone 5 times a week and others when I make it once, when I’m super healthy and when I can’t manage to find a speck of time for myself. And in all the phases, there has been something that has helped me through. I was a dancer most of my life, but never much of an athlete. So I came in with a lot of mobility and not a lot of strength. Mobility is still my superpower, but I have always loved how much of a badass the classes have made me (and trust me, the definition of badass is my own, and that’s the best part). Radiant has always been a wonderful support system for me. They have a community of support, encouragement and lifting each other up when there’s just not enough of that going around. They have been my friends, my therapist, my destressor. Oh, and they’ve helped with that fitness and nutrition stuff too.”
